An attempt to profit from changes in the price of a stock caused by a large block trade. If a block trade is large enough, it can drive the price of a stock up or down. A trader who wants to bag the street will try to buy or sell a stock at its current price before a block trade is complete, thus profiting from the subsequent change in the price of the stock.
