Committee is responsible for creating bank policy guidelines used for both member and non-member countries and works with authorities to implement the guidelines. The Basel Committee on Bank Supervision does not have authority over government or other authorities in making the guidelines, but the guidelines it creates are followed and well regarded by the financial communities.
