A market order placed by a company insider on shares of the company. The order must be placed in accordance with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, to avoid an insider trading violation. The move is not typically seen as advantageous to the insider. For example, an executive places an order to sell shares he just received as compensation.
