A term used by day traders and technical analysts when charting day high and low prices. "Inside days" occur when the day's high point is lower than the previous day's high point, and the day low point is higher than the previous day's low point. This implies that the stock is trading at reduced volatility, and several consecutive inside days implies higher probability that the stock will soon break out of this trading range. Also called inside bars.
