mismatch risk

A risk category referring to the possibility of a swap dealer being unable to find an appropriate counterparty for a swap transaction where it is acting as the intermediary. Also known as the risk of an investor choosing various investment vehicles for his or her portfolio that are not suitable for their specific goals or circumstances.
