1. Act of seeking or finding sources of monetary funds for a period of time of less than one year. For example, project managers may seek short-term funding for unanticipated expenses. 2. Financial instruments, usually a type of debenture, which are used to provide financing to a larger project. For example, a company can generate short-term funding by issuing commercial paper or short-term bonds.
