A Canadian stock exchange, owned and operated by the same company (TSX Group) which operates the Toronto Stock Exchange. The companies that are traded on this exchange are companies that do not meet the requirements for trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange, and the TSX is therefore comprised of many high-risk stocks. The TSX Venture Exchange was known as the Canadian Venture Exchange until 2001, when it was purchased by the TSX Group.
