unscheduled recast

A recalculation of the amortization schedule remaining on a loan, triggered by events or conditions specified in the loan contract. An unscheduled recast may happen when the principle value of an Adjustable Rate Mortgage exceeds the original principle by a specified amount, triggering larger payments.
