1040 Form Schedule D

Capital Gains and Losses. This form is used for individual taxpayers in reporting the information about each investment they sold during the year. It is referred to as Schedule D. Capital gain or loss is reported for each of the transactions, and total gains and losses are also figured as the taxpayer will have either a net profit or a net loss from all of their investment trades.
