federal methodology

The method by which the federal government calculates the eligibility for federal aid programs (such as Pell grants or subsidized loans) for student education. As part of the eligibility determination, Expected Family Contribution is calculated based on ability to pay on a case by case basis. Sudden changes in financial circumstances can be taken into account as long as there is adequate documentation.
