The interest rate on a loan which is calculated on the base rate expressed in percentage in addition to the averages of financial instruments such as treasury bills, COFI, and LIBOR. The rate is the benchmark for calculation of the interest rate on an ARM or adjustable rate mortgage. Also called final interest rate.
