A bank which initiates the fund transfer process. In a transfer of funds between parties, the instructing bank is the one sends the funds after receiving the orders from its client. The client will specify the amount to be sent and the party receiving and the instructing bank will be the one to send the funds to the receiving bank. Opposite of advising bank.
