Public-Private Investment Program (PPIP)

A program created by the Treasury Department which will take between $75 and $100 billion from the Troubled Assets Relief Program, and leverage it in order to buy between $500 billion and $1 trillion worth of legacy assets. The program helps banks get rid of these legacy assets, and avoids putting the entire burden on the taxpayer.
