U.S. Government Securities

Debt obligations of the U.S. Government that are traded on the securities market. They include Treasury notes, TREASURY bonds, Treasury bills, and Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS), all of which can be purchased through a bank, brokerage firm, or directly from the Treasury Department.
